By day Mr. Cook works as an unassuming math teacher, calculating numbers and writing on blackboards. But on the weekends, he assumes a different identity - that of an avid snowboarder and roller derby coach.
Mr. Cook has been snowboarding for well over twenty years, having worked previously at Vail Resorts in Colorado. He taught snowboarding there for five years, alternating between working on the slopes during the winter and rafting the Arkansas River as a whitewater guide during the summer.
Mr. Cook's roller derby team is currently ranked in the top 2 percent of all leagues worldwide and finished 32nd at the WFTDA Championships this past fall.
